In addition, the contributor for each entry is listed, along with a note on whether the game is appropriate for replication in educational settings. The selections run the gamut from simple variations on tag and hopscotch to highly symbolic tests of strength and endurance such as Al-Mussara'A Al-Arabiyya, an Arab wrestling game. Many group-dancing activities are included. Two indexes, one by continent and country, the other a general index, offer easy access. An appendix with articles on evaluating games for classroom use will assist educators, and the unusual scope of this book, covering many less-familiar games, will prove useful for student reports and scout badges.
